Holdfast Bay Recycling

The “Holdfast Bay Public Recycling Pilot” project has been granted over $6,800 through the “Keep Australia Beautiful Beverage Container Recycling Grant” to locate recycling bins in the community.

The project involves the installation of public recycling bins at two sites within the Holdfast Bay Council area.

Three recycling bins will be installed; one at Moseley Square, Glenelg, and two along Jetty Road, Brighton.

The Member for Morphett, Dr Duncan McFetridge, congratulated the City of Holdfast Bay for securing this grant money which will further contribute to the wonderful work that is already undertaken by council and the many dedicated volunteers who work hard to keep our environment clean.

“The City of Holdfast Bay is one of South Australia’s premier tourist locations and we are fortunate to have many shops, restaurants and thousands of tourists all of which generate a large number of cans and bottles.  Most of this can be recycled,” Dr McFetridge said.

“Initiatives diminishing the amount of waste going into landfill should be encouraged.

“I am pleased that the City of Holdfast Bay actively supports recycling and has been supported by Keep Australia Beautiful to further locate recycling bins in public areas,” said Dr McFetridge
